Application for a Bakery Licence

According to the Bread (Control of Manufacture and Sale) Regulations 1988, every baker should hold a bakery licence from this Ministry before carrying out the business of baker.
 
 How to apply for a bakery licence?
 
Any company or individual wishing to submit an application for a bakery licence should apply in prescribed forms obtainable at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection (Commerce Division), 6th Floor, Air Mauritius Building, Port Louis. A copy of the application form can be downloaded.
 
List of documents that should be submitted along with application form is at Annex III.
 
 Renewal of Bakery Licence
 
The Bakery Licence is permanent and non-renewable.
 
No fee is charged for the issue of the bakery licence.
 
 
 Guidelines
 
 Documents to be annexed :
 
(1)  Application forms obtained at the Ministry to be submitted in two (2) copies.
(2)  A site plan in two (2) copies in A3 paper.
(3)  A bakery plan in two (2) copies in A3 paper.
(4)  Land use and building permit or Development permit (whichever applicable) from Local Authorities.
(5)  Incorporation Certificate, if the bakery is registered as a company.
(6)  Certificate or letter certifying that applicant or worker working in the bakery has followed a course in the baking of bread or have experience in the field.
(7) 
Business Registration Card.
